We had an interesting and terrifying experience in central Victoria at our house. We live on 400 acres with our only neighbours around 200 acres away on the other side of thick plantation so we are very isolated.
My son and partner where asleep and I was on my phone, no lights where on in the house. I happened to look up from my phone and could see the the house was illuminated. Our bedroom door was open and as you walk out the door and look right you can see outside through two big glass doors.
The light that was illuminating the house seemed to be coming from the front of the house towards the doors. The moment I realised the place was illuminated with a still, quiet light and realised no one was up or around to do this – I became petrified.
The stillness of the light and the dead silence that accompanied it made it worse. I knew this wasn’t a flash light as there was no shadows moving within the house. It was a still, bright, orange/yellow light that shouldn’t be in my house.
I soon awoke my partner telling him ‘go see what that light is!’ And ‘why is there light out there’ to which he groggily got up and walked out of our bedroom door and looked towards the front of the house to where I had suspected the light came from. I could see him lit up with the light for about two seconds as he looked towards the front of the house when, as quick and quietly as this light came, it went, and we where back to total darkness.
We have no light pollution where we live, and 4 outside dogs including two livestock guard dogs situated about 200 acres down from the front of our house and two pet/working dogs by the house that bark at everything. As my partner walked back in the bedroom he made the statement to me ‘are you fucking messing with me’ as he was still awaking and coming to terms with what he had just seen. I still had not moved at this point and was petrified…
