Three of us were on our way home from Cairns when a bright light caught our attention, and to our surprise, it remained stationary as we continued our journey towards Gordonvale. It was about the size of a helicopter, with a large round white light and four smaller lights underneath, alternating between red and white. Despite its size we heard no sound.
We continued towards the object until we were a about 800 meters away before it shot off towards Cairns in the blink of an eye..
