I’m out on the water near Weipa, cruising along, when I spot this odd sight. There’s this bright ‘white light’ off in the distance, about thirty kilometers to the west, hovering just above the horizon. It’s moving pretty fast at first, like it’s in a hurry to get somewhere. But then, out of nowhere, it starts to slow down as it climbs higher in the sky. It’s like it’s putting on the brakes before zipping off again, disappearing into the distance at what seemed like jet speed.
