On July 20, 2022, while walking my dog in Alcoa Wetlands, I noticed an unusual stick structure in the bush. The previous day, a loud crack, like a tree knock, had caught our attention. Returning to the spot, I ventured down an overgrown track and spotted a creature resembling a chimpanzee, about 5’9″ tall, jet black with a dark grey face. It glanced at me for a moment before darting off to the left. Seconds later, a larger creature, over 7 feet tall and robustly built, crossed the track. Its presence triggered an overwhelming sense of fear, like an electric shock, urging me to leave calmly. The second creature moved swiftly with long strides, its thick build and dark hair vivid in my memory. The experience left me shaken, replaying in my mind for days.
